J. Donald MacKinnon, Jr. '43 of Newton Highlands, was elected last Monday afternoon to captain next year's Varsity track team. MacKinnon, who was recently chosen secretary of the Varsity Club, has been a consistent winner in the high and low hurdles for the Mikkolamen this year.

Hailing from Newton High, MacKinnon starred in the hurdles at school, and was captain of the '43 team in his Freshman year. He succeeds Bob Houghton, Crimson half-miler.

In the Heptagonal meet ten days ago, MacKinnon played a big part in the Harvard victory. His first in the 220-yard low hurdles and his second in the 120 high event gave the Mikkola charges two important places.

Don reached the height of his glory at Yale last weekend, when he carried off both the low and high hurdles diadems.
