Sprague Coolidge, lecturer in Chemistry, was elected president of the Harvard Teachers Union in a meeting yesterday at which retiring President F. O. Matthiessen, associate professor of History and Literature, described the Union's work during the past year. Kirtley Mather, professor of Geology, was chosen vice-president.
In telling of the year's activities, Professor Matthiessen said that the Union, which is affiliated with the A. F. of L., has been successful in several recommendations to the University.
