BASEBALL SQUAD GETS READY FOR PRINCETON

Fully convinced that nothing comes to those who wait, the Varsity ball team yesterday turned away from Hanover and its spring rain storms, and prepared to tidy itself up to greet Princeton's high-riding champions tomorrow afternoon.

The Tiger hunt will take place on Soldiers Field at 2:30 o'clock, with a large crowd expected to see the 1942 finale of the Ray Talcott-Mort Waldstein rivalry. It was Talcott who led the Nassau's to their 8-4 win over the Crimson and Waldstein a little over a month ago.

Weather Interferes

Yesterday's double bill with Dartmouth was cancelled for the second time because of inclement weather. The Varsity had stayed over at Hanover hoping to play off yesterday morning the series originally scheduled for Wednesday.

Floyd Stahl was able to hold batting and fielding practice on the Indians' field before the rain began again, but then had to hurry to catch the earliest afternoon train back to Cambridge. Last night he would make no statement as to whom he would send against the Tigers, saying that Lou Clay, Warren Berg, and Waldstein are all ready to start.

This match can set the Crimson's position in the League, for both squads will have only a two-game series with Yale left to their League campaigns. At present the Crimson stands three games behind the Tigers.

If Harvard wins all three and Princeton drops its remaining encounters, the Harvard Varsity will still trail the Orange by half a game. It is expected that if final standings are that close some arrangement can be made to play off the now-postponed Dartmouth bill. Financial problems will be the most difficult hurdle to jump on this problem.

After this Saturday the Crimson will take on Holy Cross on Wednesday, again looking for revenge for the defeat incurred earlier in the season. Then the Yale due will top off the 1942 program.
