(1) A student at the time of his enlistment in V-5 will indicate his choice for either V-5 or V-7. He may change his choice later if he desires.

(2) Students who thus indicate their desire for future V-5 status will thereby become eligible to take Civil Pilot Training during the Freshman or Sophomore year.

(3) Any student in V-1 who fails to remain in college through the first two calendar years, or who fails to pass the V-1 comprehensive examination with a sufficiently high grade, will be permitted to go to one of the Navy's flight training centers provided he can pass both the physical and mental examinations for prospective aviation officers. The mental examination henceforth will be the same as that given to all candidates for flight training.
