8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports

41 Students Survive Army Air Corps Tests

66 Pass Mental Examination But 34 Fail in Physical

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Out of the 67 men who took the Army Air Corps mental examination here last week, 66 passed, but only 41 out of 75 survived the "screening" physical exam.

Seventeen of those who were not immediately accepted on the basis of the physical were disqualified, while another 17 were placed in a "hold" category, including men with correctable defects such as being underweight and having decayed teeth.

Letters of Recommendation Needed

Having passed the two preliminary obstacles, successful candidates should complete their enlistment by applying with three letters of recommendation and a birth certificate to Lt. Michael T. Neary at the South Armory, Irvington St. (off Huntington Ave.), in Boston.

Now that it has acquainted Harvard with the process of applying for appointment as an Aviation Cadet, the Air Corps will not necessarily send an examining board to Cambridge again, but any who may decide to join up subsequently must contact the regular recruiting officers.
