Chairman Expects Support Of Men Called Into Service

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The annual Phillips Brooks House Old Clothes Drive, designed to collect students' discarded wearing apparel for the benefit of local welfare organizations, will get under way this week, Thomas M. Stanton '44, who is in charge of the drive, announced yesterday.

The collection will be carried out by means of a door-to-door canvass of every room in the College. A chairman will be chosen in each House, who will in turn appoint a representative in each entry. All the Yard dormitories will be canvassed in the same manner.

Phillips Brooks House expects that the large number of students-who are being called into the armed forces will be able to contribute heavily to the drive.

At the same time P. B. H. announced the results of its most recent competition for the Social Service Committee. The new members are: Taxter Swan '45, of Strauss Hall; Wyman C. Win '45, of Walker House; James E. Connor '45, of Weld Hall; Paul B. Coggins '45, of Hollis Hall; Peter F. Kranz '45, of Matthews Hall; Jack W. Ellison '44, of Adams House; and Frederick F. M. Kempner '44, of Winthrop House.
