Macgowan fell 5 to 4 to Yale's Ed Gravely, and his partner Don Davis dropped a 2 and 1 decision.
At Andover on the same afternoon, the Freshman team, hotter than ever, racked up its sixth consecutive triumph with a convincing 9 to 0 whitewash over the Royal Blue.
