DEPARTMENTS OFFER TALKS TO FRESHMEN

Featuring speeches by representatives of the four University graduate schools, the annual series of lectures designed to help Freshmen in their choice of a field of concentration opened yesterday afternoon at a meeting conducted by Evan R. Collins, assistant dean of the Graduate School of Education.

During the next 10 days, 25 members of the Faculty will speak informally to the Yardlings, explaining to them the advantages and requirements of their graduate school or department in the College.

Graduate School Heads Speak

Speaking in the Chess Room of the Union at 5:15 o'clock this afternoon, Assistant Dean Reginald Fitz '05 will discuss the Medical School, while Walter B. Leach '21, professor of Law, will lecture at 7:15 o'clock. At 8:15 tomorrow evening, Assistant Dean Harry L. Hansen will treat the Business School.

Also talking tomorrow, Assistant Professor Mason Hammond will speak at 5:15 o'clock on the Classics department, and Harold S. Kemp will discuss Geography at 7:15. On Friday, Professor Albert Haertlein will explain the department of Engineering Sciences at 5:15, and will be followed at 7:15 by Heary M. Sheffer, professor of Philosophy. Speaking Sunday evening at 7:15, Associate Professor Taylor Starck will treat Germanic Languages, and Associate Professor Michael Karpovich of the History Department will lecture at 8:15 o'clock.
