WAR COURSES TO APPEAR IN NEW REGISTER

Pamphlet Published Today Describes Wide Curriculum

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Invasion by the War into almost every field of learning appears to be the most distinct characteristic of the new course pamphlet which is scheduled to roll off the University presses early this morning.

About 45 pages longer than the old pamphlet, the new booklet includes, for the first time, all subjects to be offered in the summer, fall and spring terms. Moreover, it provides that either half of any course listed may be taken for credit by students equipped with the proper prerequisites.

Courses Stress War

As had been predicted, there are many courses featuring the so-called "War angle," such as intensive Japanese, Chinese, German, and Russian, and science courses that stress the military aspects of scientific knowledge.

In addition to these comparatively "old" innovations, however, there are such novel courses as Philosophy SE, the philosophical aspects of war issues and peace aims; English S190b, literature and democracy; and Sociology S3a, Man and Society in calamities.
