HOOPSTERS WILL OPPOSE B. U. TEAM HERE IN FINAL NON-LEAGUE CONTEST

Scholastic probation, the coach's nemesis, will find Coach Earl Brown using his brilliant Sophomores, Chick Lutz and Don Lutze, for the last time this season as his team faces Boston University at 8:30 o'clock tonight in the Indoor Athletic Building.

It will also be the last appearance of the Crimson five in non-league competition as it attempts to wrest the mythical Greater Boston hoop title out of the grasp of the fighting Terriers who need only a win tonight for the crown.

The visitors have already scored a significant victory over Tufts, which had beaten the Crimson earler in the season, and which had topped M.I.T. and Northeastern in quest of the mythical championship.

Three Veterans for B. U.

Coach Mel Collard will field three of last year's starting five which defeated Harvard 48 to 38. They are captain and leading scorer Jim Cassidy, right forward, bear-like Charley Thomas at right guard, and Howie Mitchell at the pivot position. Newcomers will be Joey Silver at left forward and Red Madden at the other guard.

With one eye on Saturday's contest with Yale, Coach Earl Brown will probably shuffle his players around more than usual tonight in an effort to get the right combination for the Elis. It will be his last chance to smooth out flaws in the Crimson machine.

He will probably keep his latest starting lineup which was so successful against Penn last Saturday. This will mean that Zee Buckley and Don Lutze will open the game at forward with Bunks Burditt at center and Ed Rothschild and Hugh Hyde at guard.

As a prelude to the Varsity encounter, the Yardling quintet will meet the B. U. Freshmen at 7:30 o'clock.

COURT CHATTER:

All future opponents beware: Ed Rothschild has only four more games left in which to beat his all-time family scoring record--six points in a game. Neither he nor his brother who played guard for Williams have beaten the mark although they have tied it on several occasions. By the looks of the big Senior in practice recently, however, it looks as if his left arm might accomplish the feat in the very near future.

Coach Brown has uncovered a new scoring threat in Don Lutze, who, unfortunately has only one more chance to show his wares. The tall Sophomore, usually reluctant to shoot in a game, really went to town against the Quakers Saturday, tallying 13 points.

P.B.H. BASKETBALL:

Extending rivalry with Yale to one more field, Brooks House announced yesterday that a basketball team has been selected from the settlement houses in Boston to play a similar Eli aggregation in New Haven on March 13.

Explaining the innovation, Bunks Burditt revealed yesterday that two players have already been so chosen from each house to represent the Crimson in the fray, and that he and Varsity Captain Bud Finnegan would try to whip them into shape before the encounter.

As a reward for their efforts, the teams will be admitted to the Varsity basketball game that is to be held that evening, and plans are in the making to show them around Yale.
