A regular Freshman class of 125 men will enter the Medical School this year on July 1, it was decided in the recent Medical School Faculty meeting. Previously, the new class started in early October.
The Medical School courses will re-portunities in special First Aid courses will be given. The actual number of weeks spent in the Medical School will remain exactly the same.
A second class will start on March 1, main essentially the same as they are at present in spite of the war, said Dean Charles S. Burwell '16, though new opunder the new plan, though "the date is not definitely fixed," said Dean Burwell. "As is the case with any other class during this emergency, the date "may have to be changed."
Second Class Enters March 1
The present Senior class at the Medical School will graduate early in June, and the "Aesculapiad," the year book, is to be dedicated to Soma Weiss, Hersey Professor of the Theory and Practice of Physic, who died on January 31.
Dr. Weiss was well known for his work in the bacteriology department, and up until the week before his death was treating another bacteriologist who had contracted a disease from a virus which he was studying.
