Harvard's Varsity tankmen closed out a fair to middling season last Friday night, when Yale's finest swimming team in history snowed under the Crimson by a score of 55 to 20. Subsequent to the Varsity meet, the Crimson Yardlings met defeat at the hands of the Yale Freshmen, 58 to 17.
Although Yale tried mightily to ring up a world's record in the Medley Relay, the only record-breaking of the evening came when ace backstroker Danny Dannenbaum swam the first leg of the Medley Relay in 59.8 seconds to eclipse the old mark of 60.7 seconds set by Joe Burns two years ago.
Coach Hal Ulen's lone "star" of the meet was "Big John" Eusdon, who defeated Yale's Britton in 23.9 seconds. According to some officials, moreover, had Eusden squeezed in another quick stroke immediately before the finish of the race, he might have cut down his time by as much as a half a second.
