Officials Explain Presence Of More Mattresses in Yard

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Rumors of a contract between the Army or the Navy sprung up again yesterday morning when a second large consignment of mattresses arrived in the Yard. But University officials denied that there was any change in the situation as it stood a month ago, when it was announced that the government was inspecting the University's facilities, together with those of many similar institutions, with several projects in mind.

The mattresses, however as well as the large number of double-decker beds which are stored in the basement of Matthews Hall, were ordered last fall in anticipation of the increased size of the Business School, and other University departments, and are just arriving.
