With preliminary results in from all Houses but Kirkland, 316 students have signed up to contribute a pint of blood each to the Red Cross drive to build up a plasma bank for the armed froces.
Winthrop is far ahead so far, with 150 donors. Eliot is second with 80, followed by Leverett with 50, Dunster with 40, and Adams with 30. Only six Bellboys have volunteered, and John A. Holabird, Jr. '42, chairman of the House Committee, said that there would be another effort made to raise the Lowell total. The Kirkland canvass will begin today or tomorrow in conjunction with the United War Fund drive.
Donor Groups Organized
No figures have been tabulated as yet on the number of students who have already given blood, because it has been done individually so far. Groups of 20 are being organized this week in the various Houses to go down to the Huntington Hospital en masse.
Richard Leacock '43, in charge of the campaign, said last night that he hoped all the Houses would eventually reach the mark of 150 donors set by Winthrop, the only one in which complete returns are known.
