HANOVER, N. H., Feb. 6--Paced by Captain Bob Clark, Ralph Townsend, and a Freshman sensation, Steve Knowlton, the University of New Hampshire appeared to have its second straight Dartmouth Carnival title as the Wildcats from Durham compiled an impressive lead over its nearest rivals, the Big Green, in the downhill and slalom events today.

Following the Indians were Middle-bury, Norwich, Williams, Harvard, St. Lawrence, and Amherst, in that order.

On the Moose Mountain downhill trail this morning, Captain Finn Ferner of Harvard tied Knowlton of New Hampshire for first. Reid was seventh, and Ames 13th.
