Yardling Seer Picks Magic Number, Wins Way to Hop

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Without the aid of a crystal ball, mental telepathy, or any other clairvoyant device, Philip H. Thayer '45 of Waban and Apley Court last night won a number-guessing contest held in the Union, and was awarded a free ticket to the Leverett House Winter Formal dance by the Bunny Hop Committee.

Thayer picked 729, which was within two numbers of the correct figure, 731, written on the back of ducat to the dance. Most of the yardlings were suspicious of a hoax of one sort or another, and only about 300 of them took a chance.

The dance, to be held on Friday, February 13, in the Bunny Hutch, will feature Frank McGinley and his 12-piece orchestra. It is the first of the series of House dances that will be held this winter.
