Ensign Thomas Quimby '40, a graduate of the Business School's Naval supply Corps, was aboard the naval tanker U.S.S. Neches, sunk recently by an enemy submarine. He reached port safely, his parents in Grand Rapids, Michigan revealed yesterday.

A Navy Department communique issued on Monday reported the Neches sinking, in which 126 members of the crew, including Quimby, were rescued, and 56 are yet unaccounted for.

While an undergraduate, Quimby was active in Phillips Brooks House work, serving as vice-president in 1930-40 and as assistant graduate secretary in 1940-41. He was graduated from the Business School last fall.
