Despite rumors that flying has been discontinued, the Flying Club's Stinson 105 is still being flown from Beverly Airport. Many members of the Club have been able to regain their licenses after the Government's revocation of all private flying privileges, and those who have not yet done so may be reinstated by complying with certain regulations.
Men who held licenses and wish to regain them should find out from the CAA office at East Boston where to apply. Applicants for reinstatement must have a properly certified birth certificate stamped with a raised seal of town or state. In addition they must present two 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 (not including margins) identification photos, which show large head and shoulders, and says the Government, both ears.
At the same time the applicant must present at least two letters of recommendation stating unquestionable loyalty to the United States. These letters must be from prominent citizens, and must be written on letterhead stationery. Tutors and proctors do not count as reputable citizens for purposes of recommendation.
Students who wish to avail themselves of the Flying Club plane may apply to the president, J. W. Straus '42, Eliot C-21 or to the secretary, K. R. Cornwell '43, Eliot K-32.
