LEVERETT AND LOWELL PACE HOUSE CAGERS

Leverett and Lowell, continuing their fast pace, increased their lead over the rest of the basketball league yesterday afternoon, the Bunnies downing Dudley 17 to 12, and the Bellboys topping Winthrop 19 to 15. In two other games the Deacons beat Dunster 27 to 8, and Eliot fell before Adams 33 to 10.

The Puritans kept the Bellboys hard pressed in the first half of their match, leading most of the period. But the Bellboys hit their stride, and with Dick Sorlein, Dave Barnett, and Bill Thompson accounting for 15 points, they came out four points on top, 19 to 15.

Norman Cameron led the Bunnies with six points in a low-scoring victory over the Ramblers of Dudley, 17 to 12. Guy Meli and Len Cummings shared scoring honors for the losers, each sinking two field goals.

Ezell, Kameese Shine

Last year's all-House forward, Deacon Howie Ezell, teamed up with another smooth-playing forward, Joe Kameese, to lead Kirkland to a 27 to 18 win. With Ezell coming through with five field goals and Kameese filling the basket for nine points, the Deacons had the game well in hand after the first few minutes of play. Deacon guard Jack "Dead Eye" Eberle showed some of his old form in the second half, rifling the ball down the court on a number of fast breaks.

With Andy Muldoon chalking up 12 points, the Gold Coasters had little trouble in running over Eliot, 33 to 10. Tom Bartlett led the losers with six points.

Today is a day of rest for the House players, but action will be resumed with four more games tomorrow afternoon. Leverett and Lowell are tied for first place with seven wins agaisnt one setback apiece.
