Brushing aside all opposition, the Lowell House juggernaut defeated the Kirkland hoopsters by a score of 40 to 24, and took the inter-House basketball crown yesterday afternoon.
The Bellboys were in their best form of the season, sweeping all resistance before them. From the very first, they piled up a commanding lead, and at the half were ahead 26 to 10. Johnny Penson's great play contributed greatly to the victory, as he made 13 points.
Lowell, with 12 wins and two losses, was only one game ahead of Leverett's team, which also won. The Bunnies beat Winthrop 18 to 13, in a close game in which the Puritans showed surprising strength. In fact, the contest was not decided until the last two minutes.
In other games of the day, Adams beat Dunster 32 to 24, and Dudley lost to Eliot 24 to 6, in a one-sided game which awarded undisputed possession of last place in the league to the Ramblers.
