Wood-chopping and ditch-digging will be the lot of Yale students when they appear for compulsory athletics under the new plan to make the Elis strong enough for the army.
Manual labor in all branches will be stressed by the program, which will call students to action three times a week. Far from being recreational, the nearest the periods will come to athletics will be jumping, wall scaling, and obstacle running.
