A familiar beacon of Harvard Square was promised escape from total black-out when the Donnelly Electric and Neon Company installed an electric eye on their Royal Crown Cola electric sign.
Located on the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Boylston Street, the eye is focused on a street-light, and will automatically turn out the sign when the city lights are switched off in a black-out.
