8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
As the result of time trials held yesterday afternoon, Coach Jaako Mikkola has announced his entries for the Princeton-Army-Harvard track meet at West Point on Saturday.
Don MacKinnon leads both the low and high hurdlers, while Steve Gifford will team up with him in the highs, and Tom Goethals in the low. In the dashes, Bill Trainer and Eli Berman will be on the starting line for the Crimson. The mile relay quartet will include Bill Ellis, Frank McKeehnie, Larry Corbett, and Chuck Eberhardt, who runs his first race for Harvard Saturday.
In the 2-mile relay event, Ward Slingerland, Dave Matlack, Bill Palson, and Bob Houghton will be the Mikkola entres. Captain Houghton and Palson will double up, and run the mile race as well. In the 2 mile event, Tim Coggeshall, formerly on the two-mile relay team, and Don McCaul will be running. Broad-jumpers Saturday will be Ted Bauer and Tom Holyoke, while Bauer and John Bunker will high jump. In the shot put, Dick Pflster and Johnny Shattuck will be on deck for the Crimson, while Mike Ford, Steve Brooks, and Gerry Lenane should monopolize the pole vault.
