The Senior Dance was coming up That's a big dance, and long before it was scheduled the girls set about looking for dates. Now, as any Vassar girl can tell you, males normally flock to Poughkeepsie, which is where Vassar is. No girl has ever had trouble getting a date. But this time a good proportion of them reported it was no go. No men.
So they called it off. "Rather than run a dance with younger college boys," remarked one of the suaver specimens, "we decided to sit home and think of our soldiers." She beamed when she said that.
