Richard E. French '37, for the past six months assistant dean of the College in charge of Juniors and Seniors, has resigned his post to enter the Army, it was announced yesterday. Redman W. Paul '36, has taken over his duties.
In addition to his post in University Hall, French has served as Senior Tutor in Lowell House. He received his M. A. degree here in 1939, and last year acted as a tutor in music.
Paul former Proctor
Paul, who is taking over the same duties he performed in 1937, was a proctor in the Yard last year. Finishing the work for his Doctor's degree this fall, he has served on the Board of Freshman advisers.
French is the fifth assistant dean to leave the College to enter the Armed Services since April. The others were Deans F. Skiddy von Stade, Jr. '38, Christopher Huntington '32, Richard H. Sullivan '39, and Leonard C. Holvik '40, who was acting assistant dean this summer.
