$15,800 NETTED IN BID FOR FOOTBALL

Julian Cohen Wins Pigskin By $14,800 Bond Purchase

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Great things came out of Section 35 last Saturday, including a check for $14,800, autographed by Mr. Julian Cohen of Brookline, which nearly bowled over astonished collectors and won the Brown-game football handily. All other opposition in the auction crumbled before Mr. Cohen's contribution, and never brought itself appreciably above the $1000 mark.

John W. Ellison '44, head of the War Bond and Stamp Committee, announced last night that virtually all of the pledges were from Section 35, but could not explain this phenomenon. Freezing weather kept the total number of pledges down, said Ellison, but financially the sale nearly doubled the Princeton-game mark of $7686 and must be regarded as a success.

On the House Stamp and Bond front, Ellison disclosed last night that on the whole the House sales were on an average five to ten dollars lower than last week's mark.
