William C. Palson, Jr. '44 of Winthrop House and Winchester has been elected captain of the cross country team, it was announced last night. No will replace Frederick W. Phinney '43.

In last week's Heptagonsis at New York in whcih the Crimson harrlers took second, Palson was the first man on the Harvard team to place.
