Last weekend the Crimson Freshmen topped Exeter 21 to 12 and the Jayvees swamped Dean Academy 20 to 7. This afternoon a squad officially known as the Junior Varsity, a 50-50 combination of the two outfits, travels to play the Andover eleven.
Since the top men on the Junior Varsity list have been moved up to the Varsity, the starting lineup is predominantly 1946, with Senior Jack Farley at left end the only upperclassman to crash the team.
Duden Paces Blue
Andover boasts an experienced, hard-driving backfield headed by tailback Dick Duden, who happens to be captain of the football team, captain of the basketball team, president of the Senior class, president of the Student Council, and on the honor roll. While on the gridiron he confines his efforts to running, passing, and a bit of kicking.
Aside from his running mate, fullback Tom O'Leary, who is a topnotch plunger, the Royal Blue has no outstanding backs and the line is green.
In its first two games, Andover out-pointed Northeastern Freshmen 13 to 0, and bowed last week to the Yale cubs by a 19-6 count.
