HUA Election Will Feature No Referenda or Survey Questions
Cyclists will give a striking demonstration of their scorn for Mr. Ickes Sunday when they race out to Wellesley in the third annual Harvard to Wellesley contest. The race will be held under the auspices of the Harvard Bicycle Racing Club, a wing of the Outing Club.
Participants are to meet at Dunster House at 9 o'clock, then ride out to Brookline in a warm-up spin. The race will start from the corner of Chestnut Hill Avenue and Boylston Street at 9:30 o'clock and will end in the center of a mob of cheering females stationed in front of the Alumni Building at Wellesley, some 30 minutes later, after ten and a half miles of gruelling pedaling.
Three to Try for Second Win
Among the racers already signed up are John Potter, Jr. '45, last year's winner, and Albert Fullertin, Jr. '44 and Arthur Besse, Jr. '42, winners of other races last year. These three will be striving Sunday to become the first club member to win two races in its three years of existence.
This does not mean that others will not have a chance, however, since the race is run as a handicap based on type of bicycle and experience, and everybody has a chance to win.
