Herrick, Crew Benefactor, Dies in Hospital Aged 76

Robert F. Herrick '90, well-known to many generations of Harvard men as "The Father of Harvard Crew" died last night at Phillips House of the Massachusetts General Hospital. He was 76 years old.

It was his annual custom to donate to the Varsity crew a new shell each spring, and his intense interest in the growth of successive Harvard crews was rivaled only by the general interest he took in every form of Harvard sports.
