Five heroes of the United Nations will arrive at Harvard Tuesday, October 13, for a tour of the College, and a reception by the Faculty, undergraduates, and members of the Student Council. All of these young people have either been directly engaged in the war, or have been civilians sought by enemy agents.
Captain Poter Cochrane, D.S.C., of the Cameron Highlanders, Raden Kadir, a student from the Netherlands East Indies, Miss Yung Wang, who recently escaped from Hong Kong, Nikolai Krasavchenko, leader of the Moscow Youth Organization, and Vladmir Pchelintsev, Russian sniper, will make up the visiting party.
Will Attend Classes
Arriving in Cambridge at 10 o'clock, the guests will split up to attend morning classes. The two Russians will go to History 55b, given by Michael Karpovich, associate professor of History, while the Englishman and the Batavian will go to Economics 81. The Chinese student will visit Radcliffe during these two hours. For the second class period the Batavian and the Englishman will visit Government 4, while the Russians attend an Economics A class where the subject for discussion will be "The Exposition of the Classical Theory of Free Enterprise."
Luncheon in their honor will be held at Lowell House Faculty Club, after which they will go on a tour of the University, and will be shown the Naval establishment at Harvard by Naval officers. A reception open to all undergraduates will be held at 4:30 o'clock in Kirkland House Common Room, followed by dinner in Lowell House.
Previously these students have attended both the Plenary Sessions and the Round Table discussions at the International Student Assembly at Washington, D. C., which lasted from September 2 through September 5. They are now on a tour to many of the colleges and universities of the East.
Following this, the five representatives expect to return to their respective home lands.
