Widener to Delay Mailing Cards For Overdue Books

Students holding overdue books will in the future not receive Widener's warning card until after about 10 days, Frederick C. Kilgour, Assistant in the Library, announced yesterday. The step has been taken to cut down the large expense of sending postcards to every student as soon as his book is overdue.

The usual procedure at Widener has been to send out the cards as soon as a book becomes overdue in order not to inconvenience anyone wanting the book. An investigation showed, however, that only one-half of one per cent of the books requested were unavailable because overdue.
