Hanover, N.H., January 18--Dartmouth's famous and muscular Outing Club found itself on the losing end of the annual Winter Carnival bargain tonight with no prospect of women and with countless posters on hand advertising the double attractions of the cancelled social event--sex and skiing.
Skiing there still will be, authorities announced, and the sports program (outdoor division) of the Carnival will still be held under the name of Winter Sports Tournament. Dances, dames, and ice sculpting are out.
Ithaca, N.Y., January 16--Cornell authorities report that this college, undaunted by rumours arriving here of air-raids back east, will continue to hold its Junior Prom. The plans for a pre-prom athletic event, the Ice Carnival, were killed.
