Architects Gropius, Breuer Display Work

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Two of the Faculty's most distinguished members, architects Walter Gropius and Marcel Breuer of the School of Design, are displaying in Robinson Hall plans and models of the tradition-free buildings which they have designed in this country during the past three years.

Characterized by white, flat-roofed exteriors with bold strip-windows, the houses have stairs without risers to give unusual openness.

To make house furnishings harmonize with the buildings themselves, the two architects have also turned to furniture design in which they have produced novelty and color by the use of hides with the natural hair for seat-covering and by using a style suggestive of aircraft.
