In a close match, the M.I.T. Freshmen yesterday defeated the Yardling golfers 5-4. The Engineers took three of the singles matches and two of the best-ball contests.
Ed Townsend, Arthur Tarlow, and Mchael Thompson defeated their Tech opponents 4 and 3, 3 and 2, and 2 up. In the first best-all match, Don Davis and Townsend downed Gueillini and Buzzard of M.I.T. 1 up.
