Doctor Appointed to Fill Henry Dorr Research Chair

Two appointments here, effective next September 1, were announced yesterday.

Henry K. Beecher, associate in Anaesthesia at the Medical School, has been appointed to a professorship at the Medical School to fill the Dr. Henry Ishiah Dorr Chair of Research and Teaching in Anaesthetics and Anaesthesia.

George B. Weston, associate professor of Romance Languages and Tutor in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, has bee appointed Associate Professor Emeritus. He received an A. B. here in 1897, A.M. 1898, was instructor in Romance Languages 1908-19; assistant professor of Romance Languages 1919-31; Tutor 1924-; associate professor of Romance Languages 1931-. His main work has been in French and Italian, especially Italian literature, and the comparative literature of France and Italy.
