Militant Aid to Merz Group Plans Drive

The Adams House Committee for Militant Aid to Bimbo Merz will begin a campaign to elect Bimbo to the House Committee early next week, with banners, posters, and free beer schedule to start a land-slide for the candidate.

Most people think that Bimbo is a myth, but actually he is a flesh-and-blood Junior, qualified for superiority by virtue of a golden name that, once heard, is never forgotten. Gerald Sirkin '42 is the fighting leader of the crusade to elect Bimbo.

Parietal Rules Relaxed

In line with the trend to relax burdensome parietal rules are several new regulations recently announced. Cautiously, but none the less openly, Eliot House has extended radio hours to 11:30 on Saturday nights to allow students to listen to the excellent music at that time.

More interesting is an Adams House rule that ladies of good character will be allowed in the rooms until 10 o'clock before the Valentine Ball tonight.

Eliot Greets Britisher

Eliot House had a dinner "in hall" last sight to celebrate the appointment of Harley Granville-Barker as visiting lecturer. The guest, an Englishman, made a short speech after dinner during which he predicted a new Middle Ages in case of a British defeat, and emphasized that democracy is losing no ground in England. Questions were allowed after the talk, and discussion centered around the question of how democratic Britain was.

Olcott Gates '41 smashed all previous records made by the Elephants when he spent four days in bed following examinations with no signs of any sickness.

Tutor Helps Defense

Russell Nixon, formerly a tutor in labor economics at Adams House, has at to work with the Defense Commission.

Dance Committees Splurge

A rash of dances has broken out anew after the ordeal of Mid-years. The Gold Coasters are giving their Valentine Ball tonight from 9 to 2 o'clock. Fees are $2.50 drag. $1.50 stag. Jack Marshard plays.

The Mil. and Naval Sci. Ball is also siated for tonight at the Harvard Caisson Club (Hotel Commander) between 3 and 1 o'clock. Stan Brown furnishes the excitement, to be bought $2 drag and $1.25 stag.

Kent Bartlett will play at the Kirkland House Dance, "the night before Washington's Birthday," from 10 until 2 o'clock. $2.20 admits couples and $1.75 stags. Buffet supper is planned for the intermission.

Dunster has a record dance Saturday night with admission pegged at four bits Ditto for Leverett.
