More dates for college students is the plea of Mrs. C. Brooks Fry, assistant to Dr. Paul Popenoe, founder of American Institute for Family Relations. If college men and women got to know each other better, it would help solve the growing divorce problem in this country, she said.
According to a United Press report, she urged that men and women get better acquainted by more dates, single, group, and blind. "Teachers might even require that girls and boys hold conversations during the class hour, and meet every one else in the course," she continued. She stressed the need for greater social relationships for young men and women on co-educational campuses, and pointed out that "only 55 per cent of the students in co-educational colleges marry, and we are losing out in good citizenship by allowing this condition to exist."
