8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
The Harvard Varsity golfers leave for Stamford, Conn. today to break their first place tie with yale and Dartmouth in the northern division of the Eastern League. On Saturday the winner will meet the southern titlist, to be decided in a playoff between Georgetown, Princeton, and Penn State.
Harvard defeated Dartmouth 51/2 to 3 1/2 at Belmont two weeks ago, while Yale blanked Harvard 9 to 0 at Providence last Saturday. On Sunday, Dartmouth stopped the Elis 7 to 2 and created the triple tie. All three colleges defeated Brown, Williams and Holy Cross.
The Stamford trip will eliminate the Crimson first team from the New England Intercollegiates this weekend at Oakley, but a second squad will probably be formed to attempt a defense of the team title Harvard won last year.
The Yardling golfers for their second win of the season defeated the Andover six by a 8 to 1 margin. Art Tarlow led the Crimson field with an 81 card. Don Davis was elected the '41 captain before the game.
