Doubles Men Lose in N. E. Tennis Tourney

Although unexpectedly gaining the final round of the New England intercollegiate tennis tournament at Amherst, Harvard's number one doubles team of Captain Sonny Lyell and Orme Wilson were defeated by wylly Lamar and Tom Rodman of Amherst yesterday in a long drawn out match, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4. The other Crimson entries were forced out in earlier rounds.

This afternoon at Amherst, the Harvard and Amherst Varsity tennis teams will meet in an official match. In addition to the men who entered the college tournament, Coach Jack Barnaby will count on Russ Ellis, Howie Ezell, and Homer Peabody to participate against the Lord Jeffs.

Coach Dick Dorson's Freshman tennis team, which meets Yale Saturday, lost a close match to Exeter yesterday at Exeter. Kissell, Sorlien, Scanlen, and McDonald won their singles contests as the rest of the team lost 5 to 4.
