Harvard's wandering President will return from his scientific researches and other activities in England some time next week following a recent seven-day postponement of his sailing day, his office reported yesterday.
President Conant was given the keys to the London borough of Southwark, according to a British Broadcasting Company news release on April 3. This honor means that Harvard's President has the freedom of the borough and is exempt from arrest on any charge.
Good wishes to the English people from the students of Harvard were conveyed by Conant recently. He assured Britishers that American students "valued the cause of individual freedom and saluted England for her gallant stand."
