Postponement of the closing date of the essay contest sponsored by the Freshman American Civilization Program from Saturday, April 26 until Thursday, May 1 was announced yesterday by Bernard R. Bowron and Joseph T. Lambie, Counsellors in American Civilization.
Four prizes of $25 each and one additional prize of $25 are offered in the contest. English A essays are eligible and all papers must be limited to 3000 words. Any topic in the field of American Civilization, broadly interpreted, will be accepted. Freshmen are asked to turn in their entries to one of the counsellors in the library of the Harvard Union any day from 12 to 1 o'clock. Awards will be announced as soon as possible, probably before May 6.
