100 CLERGYMEN WILL ASSEMBLE FOR DIVINITY SCHOOL MEETING

Whitehead Will Speak On "Immortality" Tuesday

Approximately 100 local clergymen and alumni are expected for the annual visitation day of the Divinity School tomorrow to hear a lecture by Alfred North Whitehead, professor of Philosophy, emeritus, on "Immortality" and to attend other meetings scheduled for morning and afternoon of the same day.

Whitehead will speak at 4:30 o'clock in Emerson Hall, and students as well as the general public can attend free of charge. Professor Douglas Clyde Macintosh, of Yale University is another prominent authority scheduled to address the convocation at 3 o'clock in the Chapel of Andover Hall. His talk is the annual Dudleian Lecture and is entitled "Natural Revelation."

Professor Henry Steele Commager, of Columbia University, will give the annual address of the Association, which this year will celebrate the one hundredth anniversary of the famous sermon on "The Transient and the Permanent in Christianity" given in Boston May 19, 1841 by the Rev. Mr. Theodore Parker, one of the most famous graduates of the Harvard Divinity School. Professor Commager's title will be, "The Implications of Transcendentalism Today."

The meetings of visitation day will open with the annual assembly of the Divinity School Alumni Association in Divinity Chapel at 10:30 o'clock. The devotional service will be conducted by the Rev. Mr. George Hale Reed, of Winchester, Mass., president of the Association.
