Berg Halts Tufts As Freshmen Win, 3 to 2

Coach Samborski's hard-hitting Freshman nine added another team to its growing list of victims yesterday by knocking home the longer half of a 4 to 3 score against Tufts. Warren Berg dashed the hopes of the enemy battery by hurling one of the best games of the season with only 110 balls called against him, 8 hits, and 8 walks.

Both teams broke away in the first inning to score two runs apiece. Ned Fitzgibbons. Al Evarts, and Brooks Heath drove hits to bring home two men from the provinces.

The home team tally was doubled in the third when Brooks Health pasted the ball for a two-base hit that sent another two Yardlings across the plate.

Tufts broke through Berg's tight pitching once again in the fourth with two men out, but both nines shut down after that and no more runs were added. Both Al Evarts and Brooks Heath smacked two hits apiece, but Macmillan's double in the fourth was one of the best in the match.
