For the first time in recent years, Coach Jack Barnaby of the Varsity tennis team must field a completely new team as his top eight ranking players face a pickup aggregation of graduates in an informal initial match of the season this afternoon at Divinity Field.
The only returning lettermen are Captain Sonny Lyell and Orme Wilson, who played doubles on last year's team.
Playing in the number one singles slot today will be little Sophomore Jim Jenkins, the top ranking Freshman last year. At number two will be Homer Peabody, who was kept out of play last year by an injury.
Wilson and Lyell will play the next two singles matches, while Russ Ellis and Lindley Burton, two more Juniors, will play in the fifth and sixth singles positions. Howie Ezell and Bill Forthingham will probably see action as alternates in the singles or in the doubles.
