Although an earlier date was announced last week, the Freshman Jubilee Committee was forced to delay the annual affair until May 23 because of the conflicting Freshman athletic program. May 16 is the Yale week end for most Yardling spring sports and would prevent a great number of boys from attending.
The newly-chosen week end has been the customary time set in past years. This season, however, Andrew Welch's committee planned to select a date a week earlier than final exams. As finally named, the Jubilee will occur six days before the first exam.
After last night's meeting, Welch announced extensive plans to enlarge and enliven the traditional dance with the inauguration of novelty entertainment and several new features untried at past Harvard social functions. A number of well-known orchestras are being investigated and a definite selection will be made before the spring vacation.
