LIFE'S CAMERAMEN PRAISE HARVARD

Although he thinks that "Harvard in general, combines science with fun," Otto Hagel, chief photographer for Life magazine, found that students here are more serious out of their work than those at any other American colleges. The photographer, who left yesterday after taking a series of pictures here, was much impressed by the lack of "flag-waving" and "rah-rah" spirit, both of which he expected to find here and both of which he dislikes. He found the swimming pol, the boat house, and Widener very interesting and thought that Lowell House dining hall food was palatable.

Hagel said that the pictures will have a 90 per cent chance of being run in Life, but he could not vouch for any complementary remarks, since Oliver Jensen a Yale man, will probably write the accompanying article.

When asked whether he enjoyed covering the University as much as he had enjoyed going to Cuba to cover Toto, the gorilla, Hagel replied "Yes."
