"Jim Evans's All-Stars" dealt a smashing 60-20 defeat in basketball to the Rivers School yesterday. The All-Stars, a group of Freshmen who were disappointed in their attempts to make the regular Yardling squad, have had several bouts with outside teams.
Yesterday's game was the team's second straight victory, the first being last week against Browne and Nichols School by a score of 38-19. Jim Evans, a second-year Law student, originated the idea of an independent squad for the Freshmen and acts as its coach and manager.
Donald Bales was high scorer in the Rivers game with 18 points, and Ward M. Schultz was runner-up with 14 points. Encouraged by its recent successes, the team is trying to arrange for games with the second Freshman squad and Rindge Tech.
