Harvard Students To Vote on Divestment From Israel in Inaugural HUA Election Survey
Competing in what was probably one of the closest meets in the history of skiing, a surprising Crimson ski team, led by Captain Del Ames, Finn Ferner and Bungie King, came in fourth out of a field of ten in the eight annual intercollegiate ski union championships hold over the weekend on Mt. Mansfield, Vermont.
The Cantabs were in third place after the langlauf, slalom, and downhill events had been run, 15.947 points behind Dartmouth, only 6.033 points behind New Hampshire and well ahead of the remaining competitors. Greatly instrumental in this good showing were Finn Ferner and Bungle King, who finished fourth and fifth respectively in the downhill, and Captain Del Ames, who finished third in the slalom.
In the jump, the last event, the Crimson team proved to be weak, with Captain Del Ames coming in last. The Norwich team had been in fifth place, but Merrill Barber's second-place finish in the jump enabled them to nose out the Crimson skiers
