Harvard's winter track season ended disastrously. Saturday at Hanover, when the Dartmouth team, annexing nine out of twelve first places, defeated the Mikkolamen, 66 to 42.

Bright spots for the Crimson were provided by Dough Pirnie's record-breaking 300-yard run and the high hurdle event. Pirnie's time was 31.7 seconds, a new track mark, and Captain Don Donahue, Roger Schafer, and Don MacKinnon finished one-two-three in the only hurdle race.

Although usually strong in the field events, the Crimson cindermen were able to win only one of the five contests in the group. Bob Fisher's toss of 45 feet 113/4 inches in the weight throw was enough to beat out Fishman of the Green.

Although they gained no first places in the distance runs outside of the 300, the Crimson piled up a large number of seconds and thirds. Rolla Campbell of Harvard took second in the 600-yard race, Don McCaul was third in the mile, Cross-country Captain Lang Burwell and Tom McElligott came in second and third in the two-mile, and Bill Young and Bob Houghton followed Trudeau of Dartmouth in the 1000-yard run.
